Innovation in the humanitarian sector

The team at a leading humanitarian agency were looking for a more scientific way of allocating their scarce resources to the projects that would deliver most impact.

The Zuas team used our Innovation Generator and Innovation Scorecard tools to collate the data necessary to enable objective discussion and decision making. We put in place a process to evaluate the level of alignment of each project with the agency’s mission (where it might lead), measure the potential impact of each project and adjust this for level of investment and risk.

This enabled the team to allocate resources to the 'right' projects, and have more effective conversations with other agencies about how to progress other high-impact opportunities that did not fit with the agency’s mission and capabilities.
